Why does my body butter melt?

Our Body Butters are completely natural as we do not use synthetic stabilizers or wax. This means when your body butters are subjected to hot temperatures (~30 C/ 86F) their molecular composition will change (from a whipped texture to an oil when heated). Do not store your body butter in your (purse, car or in direct sunlight). During very warm weather body butter will soften or melt. Melting is a natural reaction to heat which we cannot control. Melting will not affect the quality of the butter but the consistency (molecules) will change from a whipped texture to a body balm once solidified.


Can I purchase body butter if I live in a tropical country or it’s very hot where I live?

As stated in the previous question shipping our Body Butter to your home during hot summer months or climates that are tropical can be tricky. We use protective packaging and cold ice packs. However, melting is a natural reaction to heat and we have no control over the conditions during transit or delivery. Melting will not affect the quality of the butter but the consistency will change and be more like body balm once it solidifies. Please try to pick up your parcel promptly and don’t leave it on your porch, post office or allow it to sit outdoors. We urge you to stock up on Body Butters during Winter/Fall. We unfortunately cannot refund you if your Body Butter melts during shipping.


What is the shelf life of the products?

We do not add preservatives to lengthen the life of our products. However, most of our products contain a high level of naturally occurring Vitamin E which is a natural preservative extending shelf life. Products are good for 1-2 years as long as they are free from moisture and direct heat. Always ensure you have firmly screwed the lid back onto your products and keep in a cool/dark place to ensure freshness. 


Why is shipping so expensive?

All of our products are made and shipped out of Canada. Shipping rates are not the most competitive out of Canada unfortunately. Additionally our eco friendly reusable glass containers help maintain the integrity of our precious ingredients - they also add weight which translates to higher shipping costs. Sat Yuga Life absorbs a portion of your shipping costs!


I have a nut allergy can I use Sat Yuga Life products?

Some of our products contain nut oils like (Argan, Macadamia etc). These oils usually do not affect those who have a nut allergy. However, we strongly recommend you consult your doctor or naturopath prior to use.


Are Sat Yuga Life products mass produced?

No we are completely hand crafted and a small batch retailer. This means there can be small variances to each item as they are not made by machine. Items are made with a lot of attention and love in smaller batches to ensure freshness.


Can I return or exchange a product if I don’t like it?

We hope you can appreciate that we are a small batch retailer and an online store. Shipping costs are not conducive to returns or exchanges. All sales are final. That said, if you have a specific issue please email us via our contact us page and we will try to help rectify the situation.
